The Fairview Review
“Faith and Sparkle are perfect as superheroes because they have their alter ego identities firmly established. To most people they seem like a little girl and her dog, but that is only when they are not doing their super feats. They can do incredible things to help Grandma like - get her cane for her, fan her when she gets too warm, or even help her mix up a superpower smoothie (sign me up for one of those).
Illustrations show a child and her pet having a grand time digging holes, eating ice cream and reading books. Sparkle is obviously a very patient and loving dog who goes along with all of Faith’s plans. The pictures also give readers a laugh as they show ways that the duo did NOT become super. Hint - it wasn’t through radioactive ooze, although ooze could be responsible for Brussel sprouts. (It’s okay Faith, I am on your side about not eating them.)
Even better than the closeness between Faith and Sparkle is the bond between Faith and Grandma. It is obvious that Faith is willing to do anything for her grandmother and that Grandma appreciates every effort. Families and teachers looking for books that show intergenerational relationships should check out the world of Faith and Sparkle.”

Ngasseu Kamga, Child and Youth Advocate Counsellor
“I have enjoyed reading Superhero Faith many times. First, as a grandmother, then as a Child and Youth Advocate Counsellor.
I was not able to guess Faith and Sparkle’s secret nor where she gets her true superpower from and how she uses it. I had a belly laugh when I found out that it was from eating her veggies except for the one that I do not like too. Using her power to help grandma is really cool.
When I read Superhero Faith to the three and four-year-olds I work with within the shelter, they also laughed and educated me about ways that we can give superpowers except for veggies. This is a great book to encourage kids to be kind to grandparents and also to eat their veggies. A great book to read. Thank you Superhero Faith. Write more books, Faith.”

“As an early childhood educator, it is encouraging to see the next generation demonstrating empathy in their imagination and creative outlets. Faith is living out her genuine care and compassion for her grandmother with practical examples that young children can relate to in their everyday lives. She presents a good role model for healthy eating habits by promoting the powers and benefits of vegetables in a positive, attractive light. The message of helping others shines through her fun, adventurous escapades. It is uplifting and edifying to read good moral values and also reassuring to hear Faith acknowledge God in her life.”

The Children’s Book Review
“Ever wonder what young kids dream about? In Superhero Faith, child author Faith Abraham shows readers just how imaginative the young mind can be. We are introduced to Faith, who enjoys doing things that most children do, and her trusty dog, Sparkle. However, Faith has a secret: she’s a superhero!
You’ll never guess how she gets her powers. Superhero Faith goes on all sorts of adventures: she rescues her grandmother from being too hot, keeps her from losing her cane, and worst of all, saves her from eating ghastly Brussels sprouts. In this highly imaginative tale, we are gifted with a character that readers will relate to because of her desire to have fun and help those around her.
Faith demonstrates down-to-earth examples of how even the youngest readers can practice kindness and empathy, as well as offering a healthy nudge to eat vegetables (except those Brussels Sprouts, of course). Meanwhile, illustrator Shannon O’Toole does a beautiful job creating images that take the reader through the story and makes the characters stand out by showing the whimsy of Faith’s imagination.
Superhero Faith is a marvelous book that will entertain both adults and children alike with its precious examples of superhero habits.”

Icefairy’s Treasure Chest
“Superhero Faith is a cheerful and heartwarming book that follows a cute little girl called Faith and her devoted four-legged sidekick Sparkle as they embark on a secret superhero mission. Like most kids, Faith loves to do all sorts of fun things together with Sparkle, such as reading, drawing, swimming, eating ice cream, and going wild on the playground. What makes the duo special though, is their willingness and readiness to help grandma around the house!
From fetching her cane, to cooling her off with a hand fan, and to making her a healthy treat, Faith and Sparkle never stop trying to put their superpowers to best use. Wonder where Faith gets her superpowers from? Read the book to find out!
Written in a lighthearted and humorous tone, the book draws the reader close to both the real and imaginary worlds of the lovely characters. The colorful and highly expressive illustrations add immense vitality to the characters and the story. What’s more impressive is the uplifting message being delivered. Many kids have imagined themselves to be superheroes of some sort. What defines a superhero, however, is not what their superpowers are but what their superpowers are used for.
Young as she is, Faith sets a superb example by being kind, loving, considerate, helpful, and health conscious. She also shows the simple and practical steps a child may take to grow into a kindness superhero. I hope everyone with a superhero dream will get the chance to read Superhero Faith, get inspired by Faith’s story, and get started on their own superhero adventures.”

“Faith, the author, was 3 years old when she decided to share her story through her book, Superhero Faith, and what a beautiful book it is! Her story is something that brings out your own child-like creativity. It shares a child’s understanding of love, compassion, and the act of caring. Ultimately, Superhero Faith is an amazing read, especially for young girls of colour, and Faith herself inspires you to dream big and pursue those dreams. Amazing job Faith! I await the sequel!”

“I bought this book at my High Park night market last Thursday and read it with my eldest, she LOVED it!! I told her the story behind it and that Faith and Sparkle are real and she could not believe it! We sent a video to Faith and she so kindly replied which made Scarlett’s day. This is a fantastic story, with so much love and dedication behind it. We can’t wait for Doctor Faith and all the sequels that come after that!”
